Carol McConaughy and Tom Barse own and operate Stillpoint Farm.  They are committed to continuing the agricultural traditions in Frederick County, Maryland, as well as promoting the diverse possibilities open to small-scale farming. 

Our Business

At Stillpoint farm we believe that diversity is the heart of small-scale farming.  Rare-breed animal husbandry, value added agricultural processing, and unique crops such as hops are some of the ways we are expanding the rich traditions found in our community. 

Who We Are

Carol and Tom, both teachers, have been attached to the land most of their adult lives.  Carol has bred and raised horses for over 25 years and Tom planted his first wine-grape vineyard over 30 years ago.  Stillpoint farm allows them to concentrate their talents, and express their love of the land in new and unique ways.
